SNG is a compliment to SAMAHQUAM Chief and Council,
and SAMAHQUAM Elders Council.
​
There are approximately 400 members of Samahquam,
and nearly 300 voting members.
SAMAHQUAM Governance
The government of SAMAHQUAM consists of a Chief, three Councilors, and an Elder's Council who are elected to four-year terms of office.
​
The SAMAHQUAM Chief and Council, and Elder's Council have a legal duty to protect the lands and assets of SAMAHQUAM. They also set the overall direction of the administration.
